News from Va.

Here! Here! to the Falls Church News-Press for their editorial about their local church issues. I wish the national news media would go to this paper for more background information. If you want to leave the Episcopal Church - fine. We hate for you to go, but that's your choice. But don't make the rest of us leave because you don't like the way we follow Jesus.

Power or Prayer?

I've been following the Anglican Primates meeting in Tanzania with much interest for the last week. I'm very puzzled by the conservatives refusal to have anything to due with Bishop Katherine from the Episcopal Church. I don't have a problem with disagreement within the church, I think that discussion and conversation are healthy parts of the Anglican Communion. But some of the primates seem to be more interested in power and control than in prayer and listening for the voice of God in all places. More here...

GOAL

Soccer season has begun! I love watching, playing and coaching soccer. I am really good at watching the game - fair at the other two. The kids are playing on the same team - so at least the driving is easier this year. After years of watching the kids play "clump" soccer (where they run after the ball in big clumps) - finally we get to see some actual strategy and plays! The team is really getting along well, too... all in all a well spent Saturday morning.

OK Go

I have found some more fun music. This is courtesy of All Things Considered. The band is called OK Go. They have some fun pop music and a really funny video called "A Million Ways". Check it out.

In local news - my kids were looking through their baby pictures yesterday and found a picture of their dad - my charming husband. Here is the comment of the week. "Gee Dad, you used to be really cool looking!" I had to run to the back of the house to hide my sniggering. I'm not going to ask them about my pictures...
